INSTRUCTORS: Three of the most prominent sculptors from Zimbabwe:
Rickson Zavare, Rememberence Chikuruwo and Goodson Mlera

In addition, Erik Schwarzbart, visual artist and head of the art school, and Lone Holde, visual artist and sculptor, will facilitate the entire process.

PARTICIPANTS:
This MASTERCLASS is:
- 1. for those of you who have completed a basic course in stone sculpture at MusiconArt or at another school.
- 2. for you who have experience working in stone or are a professional stonemason or sculptor.
CONTENTS:
In the introduction, the 3 guest artists will, among other things, introduce us to the different genres within Shona sculptures, and talk about the importance of stone art for the Shona people and Zimbabwe. They also show examples of how the new generation of stone artists are turning the genre into contemporary art.
We are then presented with a range of different stone types, all of which have different advantages and disadvantages that you need to know.
Finally, something about design and demonstration of tool use.
The instruction will take place in English.
With the knowledge you have gained, you choose a stone that suits the working method you want to use and the result you want.
After this, the instruction will be individual with some shared work reviews.
If you choose to start a larger work that cannot be completed in the 3 days, we offer that you can come every Friday at 10-15 and get access to the tool and some additional instruction so you can complete the sculpture.
(This requires registration in the association Kunst på Musicon (DKK 300) + DKK 40 per day you participate).
PRICES MASTERCLASS:
Participation fee: DKK 2,500.
(Member of the Art Association at Musicon: DKK 1,500).
In addition to the course fee, there is a charge for stones, which are sold by weight from DKK 50 per kg. The price depends on the stone type and the size of your stone you have chosen
The size varies from approx. 7-16 kg and up in the very large stones.
